Miss Tuvalu Crowned

Tuvalu.tv website: Dec 15/2001. Miss Seimeana, Lily-Anne Homasi was crowned Miss Tuvalu at the Vailiki Hall on Saturday night, the 15th December 2001. The young lady from the Island of Nanumea is the only daughter of Fili and Annie Homasi. At the night of the crowning Miss Homasi was in tears when she was declared the very first Miss Tuvalu in the history of our country.

The Nanumean maiden was also awarded the Miss Charity title for raising the most money throughout the week. Ms Homasi walked away with two return tickets to Fiji with $500 spending money, a 21" Color Tv set with a complete set of travelling baggage plus $100 in cash. She is now looking forward to represent Tuvalu in the next Miss South pacific Beauty Pageant in the year 2002.
Miss MKH, Lonise Siliga was the first runner-up to the Miss Tuvalu title. She was also awarded the Best Swim Wear prize and Miss Personality. Miss Lakena United, again from the Island of Nanumea, Petsy Koau was the second runner-up to the Miss Tuvalu title. Miss Tausoa Lima, Vihiu Sepulona from Funafuti won the title of Miss Photogenic.
