Tuvalu Government Denies Tv Deal With Fijiís Ah Koy
FUNAFUTI, Tuvalu (June 28, 2002 Ė PACNEWS/Pacific Media Watch)---The
Tuvalu government has denied contracting with Fiji businessman Jim Ah
Koy to set up a nationwide television service, the PACNEWS news agency
Secretary to Government Panapasi Nelesone said Mr. Ah Koy was only
assisting them in establishing links between the Funafuti government and
foreign television companies.
Nelesone said the Tuvalu Media Corporation had also engaged the services
of an Australian company to carry out studies on establishing a
television service covering the whole Tuvalu island group.
