France names envoy to Fiji and Tuvalu July 12, 2008 The new French Ambassador-designate for Fiji - Michel Monnier, will bear the title of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Republic of Fiji. The appointment was signed by French President Nicolas Sarkozy. The French Embassy in Suva - is also in charge of Kiribati, Nauru, Tonga and Tuvalu - on a non-residential basis. Monnier replaces Jean-François Bouffandeau, who has been posted in Suva since July 2006 and is now retiring. Source: Radio Fiji |
